About VibeTree

A friend, a mentor, an advocate and a guide.

VibeTree connects people living on the street — and people leaving jail, prison or a halfway house — to the community resources already around them, then stays with them through daily mentorship until independence is real.

How we actually work.

01

We start with what a person needs today, and connect them to the local services that provide it — housing programmes, food, health, documents.

02

We pair them with a mentor. Not a caseworker. Someone who checks in every day and knows the road.

03

We set goals small enough to actually hit, and track them together through daily check-ins.

04

As members stabilise, they are invited back as mentors for the next person arriving. Most say yes.

Four pillars, one tree.

Resource navigation

VibeTree does not run shelters or hand out food. We know who does — and we walk members through the door, the paperwork and the follow-up.

A mentor and daily check-ins

Every member is paired with a mentor who checks in daily. Small goals, honest accountability, no time limit on the relationship.

Skills and creative work

Studio time, basic production, trades, admin — whatever gives a member something real to build a living around.

Community contribution

Clean-ups, gardening, neighbourhood projects. Members contribute as well as receive — that is a big part of why it holds.

Why us

What's different about VibeTree.

Plenty of organisations do good work. Here is where we sit differently.

We never ask for an ID

Members are identified by photograph and fingerprint, given willingly. A lost document should never cost someone their support.

Run by people who lived it

Most of our mentors were members first. They know what works because they used it themselves.

Daily, and with no deadline

We check in every day and we do not graduate people out after six months. The network is for as long as you want it.

Bryan Sean Byrne is a performer and songwriter based between New Orleans and Colorado, and the founder of VibeTree. He built VibeTree out of a decade of playing rooms, sleeping rough, and watching good people fall through gaps that nobody was minding.

His conviction is simple: what people on the street usually lack is not services — it is somebody who knows the way through them. So VibeTree acts as a friend, mentor, advocate and guide. It connects members to the resources already in their community, helps them set goals they can actually reach, and checks in every day until independence sticks.

Members join as mentees. As their lives steady, they are encouraged to come back as mentors for the people arriving behind them. That cycle — not a programme graduation certificate — is what Bryan measures VibeTree by.

From the founder

"I started VibeTree because I needed something like it once, and it didn't exist. Now it does."
